Bears are boring?? You must be kidding!
Have you ever seen bear documentaries on Discovery Channel? They're the coolest, cutest animals around. I'll go a grey Russian Bear if and when they come out, I can see myself as a big furry bear in Furcadia. Just make sure that they're not too big, otherwise you'll invite the twink parade This post has been edited by Velios: Apr 29 2000, 12:00 PM |

I would have to make a panda character if bear avatars were released. =>
Ayumi-Snowe is, somewhere, somehow, burned in effigy by people screaming, "PANDAS ARE NOT BEARS." |

QUOTE A bear? why you guys should have made a deer species bears are boring. An equine would easily make a substitue for a deer. Anyways, I cant wait for the ursine update this summer. I Imagine them to be almost as big as dragons, and have thier feet powinting inward like an infant... I have no Idea why, but thats how I imagine that will look like on furc... oh yeah, and judgeing on the style of the portraits from the other avatars (excluding Lapines), I can aready see what thier bortraits are gonna look like: Just like hollywood diagrams Papa, Mama, and baby bear... really freaky and ridiculous at the same time. Oh well, that when the patchers come in. |

QUOTE(Ayumi-Snowe @ Apr 30 2000, 12:00 AM) Ayumi-Snowe is, somewhere, somehow, burned in effigy by people screaming, "PANDAS ARE NOT BEARS." Well, true :) There is some force behind the suggestion that their nearest relative may be the raccoon (I think). The Red Panda is very raccoon-like (rakish?). However, the panda has a thumb, which it uses to grip the bamboo as it eats. The thumb isn't like our thumb (I think the panda still has a dew-claw higher up, which uses the bones from our "thumb") but comes from a bone that bears have... and raccoons don't. Conclusive proof? Perhaps. See Stephen Jey Gould's paper "The panda's thumb" for more info. It's been a while since I read it, so I may have some facts wrong, particularly those marked with "I think". |

I heard that skunks/squirrels will most likely be the next avatar.

I only pray they don't walk around thrusting their hips.
Hump-bunnies are scary enough. Whoever designs them.. PLEASE design them so they look vaguely like the other art, instead of an entirely different style. |

Actually, I have heared that squirrel/skunk is most likely the next species, according to something Talz announced.
Bears have been suggested before, quite a few times, possibly a dozen. |

Know what irks me?
People calling Koalas, "koala bears". x.x They're more closely related to wombats, than bears. This post has been edited by Shymmer: Apr 29 2000, 06:00 AM |

Actually, it may be me, but I saw on TV a whole fuss because some scientists reclassified the Koala as a bear. Now I don't know -which- it is now
But bears would be fun! Snuggles all around! Real teddy bears to hug ^^ |
