I think it'd be cool to have a new avatar, but one that costs cash. *pulls away cover*. The bear!
I mean seriously... Everyone would enjoy to see them there. They are not agressive, meaning the "peaceful" RP would not be hurt as much. Perhaps bears could give out a honey bar every 3 days. |

I thought I made it clear in another post somewhere else I'm wholly against bears. |

I personally wouldn't like bears..and I'd probably edit the patch to make them look like something else, just like I did with rabbits..but if they did become available I don't think they'd be in Digo Market.

Been done, each time it's been 3 for, 1 against. And it's been 4 against, 0 for making them a pay species.
We've established in Furc that pay species would be mythos/fantasy creatures like dragons, phoenixes, and gryphons. Making bears PtP would break that. And personally, i'd be frothing, rabid angry. Dangerously angry. |

Talzhemir has stated in the past that the next species will be skunks/squirrels/bushy-tailed thingies. That said, if bears were next in line after that, I'd be a rather happy fluff.
Dan'l Boone and his buddy walk into a bar. The bar eats them both. |

QUOTE(Ayumi-Snowe @ Apr 30 2000, 12:00 AM) That said, if bears were next in line after that, I'd be a rather happy fluff. A quote from Talz's FAQ page (which may or may not be current, I'm not sure): QUOTE My list is topped Skunks (stretchable for squirrels, etc.), Cows, Deer, Bugges, and Avians ("Byrddes"). Although I normally appreciate input, your suggestion for what to add next will probably fall on deaf ears until all five of the above are completed and added. If that's anything to go by, the bears of Furcadia may have to wait a little while until they get an avatar to use. |

I still don't understand why we need skunks and squirrels. I mean, does anyone even play a skunk or squirrel on furc? And if they do, couldn't a musty or rodent avatar pass as one. I personally vote for bears (And Youlanda's beer idea too). I do think it would be funny to see cows coming up soon too, but bears are probably more requested then cows and deer.

Turns his rear and aims to spray the foul fur saying we don't need skunks.
While I'm only part skunk, I'm on Furc and proud of my skunk heritage. How can you not love a fur with a nice bushy tail as long as it's body. And skunks have a fun defensive weapon for RP. Drake |

You realize that cross-species breeding makes the part species infertile, and it can only be done with similair species. You can cross a Horse and a mule, I believe, to get a donkey, but the donkey cant have kids. ^.^ As I've said before... Assblaster. |

Welcome to a fantasy world.
Besides, we're talking about anthros. Chances are good anthros would be largely genetically similar, since the base bodies are the same, despite the superficial and possibly behavioral/cultural differences, depending, of course, on how anthromorphized your version of anthros are. But some human people in the real world are bald and some are hirsute and they can breed, and some people have black skin and hair and eyes and others are albinos and they can breed, and their children aren't mules. I think it depends on exactly how anthromorphized your characters are and how much magic you wish to be involved. In a magic world or a world with cosmetically anthromorphic characters, there's no reason whatsoever that they couldn't breed and mingle without penalty other than possible social dissapproval. Squirrel/Skunk is more flexible... I made my beer post to make fun of all those requesting bears because I'm sick of seeing it. Things aren't going to change no matter how much you whine and b**** so why do you continue to fill the forums with the same tired old request over and over and over again? Carrie was nice enough to make a bear patch. You can use it in your dream until things change. |

Er. As you first stated..
NO, not everyone would like to play a bear. NO, not everyone would enjoy them. Think about that first. |

QUOTE(Tarnak @ May 31 2000, 12:00 AM) Part skunk, eh? You realize that cross-species breeding makes the part species infertile... Ah, my anthropomorphic character is more realistic than yours arguement. Your talking about being a bear that is designed to walk on two legs all the time, talks, and probably has opposable thumbs so it can easily pick things up and hold them. I see that in the world everyday. And yes, while I find furcadia a very accepting place, my character has had to fight the social stigma of being a halfbreed all his life. Dealing with this social stigma is one of the things that has shaped his personality. Let me ask you question Tarnak. Just how much are you paying to play Furcadia? It's one thing to be snotty and whiney over something you pay for, but Furcadia is FREE! You should be grateful it exists at all. Drake |

This not my post against having bears as an avatar, but rather...
What ever happened to IMAGINATION? It obviously can't be too far away since we have _humans_ running around Furcadia, and we all know there will NEVER be a public human avatar. So, instead, these _humans_ use the feline or canine avatar. There are also some who play characters from Lord of the Rings and use mustie avatars. And (almost) EVERYONE dresses their avatar differently than what is shown on screen. I mean, do we really want to see all those mustie bellies hanging out? |

Whats the point of the suggestion forums? We post here, and people who dont like our ideas yell at us because Furcadias free and we should be happy to at least have it...
I was happy before Forums neho. The suggestion page seemed cool, because, though I currently love Furcadia, and always will, I was happy to see the staff working to make it even better for the players, god bless them. ^.^ Excuse me for being irritable when I find my hopes are dashed and any brilliant ideas I might come up with are shot down, never implimented. I start to feel like they just added the suggestions to rerout email and avoid worrying about suggestions. If they dont want suggestions at all, couldnt they just say so? |
