I've been looking at what everyone wants for new avatars.. It needs to have fur (no lizards), it needs to look different (no kitsunes), and it shouldn't be alien-like (no drudges). Why not pick a squirrel? It could have a big fluffy tail, and it'd be a big hit!

Vlady's taking down all the trees. The squirrels will unfortunately be homeless at the completion of this monumental task.
I'm starting to think that we need a permanent pinned thread for suggestions for <insert species here>. Much like the looking for patch one. This post has been edited by Daiktana: Apr 29 2000, 11:00 PM |

Unfortunately, the squirrel will not be a digomarket item. In the next update Talzhemir is adding a new free race, the skunk, which supposedly also works as a squirrel. Despite the pleads for the bear, which have been totally and completely ignored, she chose the skunk because she has some stupid list on her FAQ page that she'll never change.

First: How much does the current musteline avatar look like a skunk?
Second: I still know more people playing skunks and squirrels than I do bears. Third: Get the hell OVER it already. It'd be a free avatar anyhow, and beggars, as they say, can't be choosers. Fourth: I don't know ANYWHERE where ANYONE has said that there'd be a new avatar in the next release, be it skunks or bears or hamsters. |

QUOTE(Leticia @ Apr 30 2000, 12:00 AM) First: How much does the current musteline avatar look like a skunk? About as much as it looks like a weasel or a ferret. On track, though, I believe Talzhemir has stated somewhere in the bowels of the Suggestions Forum that skunks/sqirrels would, indeed, be the next free avatar. |

Which had likely been the plan before Tarnak ever thought up his increadible, amazing bear avatar.

They're probably gonna be skunks because hundreds of people complained months back to have skunks rather then bears and so now the bear resistance has sprung forth and is attempting to wrest control from the skunkers. Daiktana merely sits by amusedly watching people make fools of themselves.

I think skunks actually ARE in the Mustela family...though, I COULD be wrong. I know for sre that Mustelines are ferrets (like me ^^), minks, weasels, ermine, and the long-necked, long-bodies folk of Furcadia (too bad we have stumpy legs ><;). I always thought of a squirrel as a Rodent, and skunks as Musties, but Rodents are specifically rats, so that cancels out that idea. And all you bear-lovers...it ain't comin' soon. I think there's probably zippo bear chars out there right now, except ferals. And in THAT case, it'd be pointless. I oughtta make a squirrel/skunk patch, too. Hmm....... *Runs away*

Heh, but what the families are doesn't matter as much as the looks - this is Furc, a graphical chat, not a zoology test.

And for it to be zoologically accurate in the first place, the creators would have to have completed High School.

And in THAT case, it'd be pointless. You gotta be jokin', mateypeeps. Bears are pretty much the most whined-about omission character-wise (ever heard of the Ti'Bear clan thing? Pop into The Haven and ask Cinder), as Carrie pointed out when she put out that brill 3D one. It's a shame that one's so far away from the style of the existing avatars, otherwise I'd recommend asking for it to be made a main avatar in its own right. |

While I've seen a skunk/squirrel patch in the makes, I don't know if it was completed or made public. I don't communicate with the individual that was working on it.
There is a bear patch. If you don't like the 3dish look of it, perhaps you can ask if you can modify it to look more like the rest of the avatars. It probably wouldn't be that hard. I find it funny that a bear (Cinder) has a portrait that is a vixen. (It was a piece of lineart that belonged to someone else and someone lifted the lineart from the web or something.) Needless to say people can be bears in their dreams. There are no public skunk/squirrel avatars. (And I’m afraid I don’t have time to make them.) Talz's Faq answers the question of avatars. Skunk/Squirrel are next. That avatar seems more flexable, really. Sorry guys. |

There's also Busharl, Griswold, and Thames06, all bears owned by different people. As for squirrels, i've only seen one. Skunks? I've seen them play as canines just fine. Not that there's a lot of them, either. If you want to go with the POPULATION, then the next species should be humans. Then elves. |

Yea... Bears are going to be five+ species away, no matter how much people want them. Fine, add skunks/squirrels. Fine, add all of these other species that you want to add. (Talz's FAQ) But PLEASE, EVENTUALLY, at least. Add bears! It'll probably never ever come around. But still, I dont like skunks. I got sprayed by one once, and I dont want to see anything resembeling those assblasters (He he. Tremors.) in Furcadia. ^.^ But its not like I have a choice.
Why do people get ratted on for complaining? If its a game you like, maybe you want to try to convince the creators and others to suit your intrests even more. I mean, Talzhemir and Felorin are making updates and new species for the people, right? Its not like they're building the avatars for themselfs. So if they're doing it for us, then why not get our opinion on it? Besides, whats wrong with a little complaining? Its fun! |

A mustie can easily play as a hedgehog! It's spikey-looking(the hair), with a snout and small tail. Bingo, hedgie ^_~

Well, see, your first problem, was listening to something Tarnak said. That'll just screw you up all together. Edit: Also, if you ask reallll nicely, I'm sure that that dream in AI with the wolves to the north will let you use it. It is of course, feral. And d***it Tarnak, if you want a bear so bad, then stop complaining and DO SOMETHING. This post has been edited by mightywayne: Dec 4 2003, 08:36 PM |

QUOTE(Youlanda @ May 31 2000, 12:00 AM) There are no public skunk/squirrel avatars. I made Wyrmme (mundane and winged), Bat and Squirrel patch back in October. Patch Forum Thread I was about to correct my Bear and add it into the Avatar Patch -- but I can't seem to be able to make a skinny bear because I have yet to see skinny bear -- by the way, the camera angle for my original Bear Avatar is off by 5 degrees. To see them as NPCs (including the Bears and excluding the Bats), you can surf on to my webpage and download "Hael Keep" Dream. By the way, DarkHorse Pterid, what's a "brill 3D" Avatar? I looked up the word "brill" and ended up with a fish. This post has been edited by Carrie O\'Kaye: Dec 5 2003, 01:16 PM |
